INGREDIENTS

Hot Honey Saltines

  • 2 sleeves saltine crackers

  • ½ cup unsalted butter

  • ½ cup vegetable oil

  • ½ cup honey

  • 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes

Whipped Goat Cheese

  • 10 ounces goat cheese, room temperature

  • 2 ounces cream cheese, room temperature

  • Pinch of salt

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F.

  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the vegetable oil, honey, and red pepper flakes. Cook 1 minute, until combined and fragrant.

  3. Place the saltines in a large mixing bowl. Pour the hot honey mixture over top and toss gently but thoroughly until evenly coated.

  4. Shingle the crackers in a single, touching layer on the baking sheet.

  5. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown and candied but not burnt. Cool completely.

  6. Meanwhile, in a mixing bowl or stand mixer, whip the goat cheese, cream cheese, and salt until light, fluffy, and doubled in volume, about 3–4 minutes.

  7. Serve the cooled hot honey saltines on a platter with the whipped goat cheese for dipping.

Storage: Crackers can be made up to 1 week in advance. Cool completely, then store in an airtight container at room temperature.
